Software Release Notes

Fujitsu Enterprise Postgres Server Assistant (64bit) 18

Trial Version

 

This document lists special cautions and reference information relating to the use of this product.

Notes on using the trial version of this product have been added to the Software Release Notes in the [Important] section below.

[Important]

The Fujitsu Enterprise Postgres Server Assistant(64bit) 18 trial version (hereinafter referred to as "the trial version") can be used to evaluate the

licensed version.

If the trial version of Fujitsu Enterprise Postgres Advanced Edition(64bit) 18 can no longer be used because the trial period has expired, uninstall the trial version.

As the Program is used for evaluation purposes, Fujitsu Limited (hereinafter referred to as "Fujitsu") does not guarantee any operations relating to the Program. Moreover, even if the Program proves to be defective, Fujitsu has no obligation to perform related modifications or other maintenance work.

Fujitsu does not guarantee the results and deliverables generated by the Program. Moreover, Fujitsu does not assume any responsibility, regardless of the legal basis, for any damages caused, including damages caused directly or indirectly to a third party, as a result of using the Program. Therefore, you may not make any claim against Fujitsu in relation to such damages.

You may not modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Program.

In the trial version, the following items are different from the licensed version:

1. How to install

Install Fujitsu Enterprise Postgres Server Assistant from the downloaded file of the trial version.

1.1 Linux

1) Switch to superuser

Execute the following command to switch to superuser:

$ su -
password:******

2) Mount the file

Mount the iso file as follows:

cd <download dir>
mount -t iso9660 -r -o loop <iso file> <mount dir>

[Example]

cd /home/download
mount -t iso9660 -r -o loop ep-postgres-linux-x64-1800-3.iso /media/dvd

3) Execute installation

Install the RPM packages stored in the directory where the iso file is mounted.

Refer to "Installation from RPM Package" in "Installation and Uninstallation of the Linux Server Assistant" in the Installation and Setup Guide for Server Assistant for information on installing.

1.2 Windows

Extract the downloaded file, and execute the following:

fep-postgres-win-x64-1800-3\autorun.exe

In the displayed window, click [Installation].

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the remaining steps.

Refer to "Installation in Interactive Mode" in "Installation and Uninstallation of the Windows Server Assistant" in the Installation and Setup Guide for Server Assistant for information on installing the product.

To view the Installation and Setup Guide for Server Assistant, execute the file autorun.exe mentioned above and in the displayed window, click [Installation and Setup Guide].

[High Risk Activity]

The Customer acknowledges and agrees that the Product is designed, developed and manufactured as contemplated for general use, including without limitation, general office use, personal use, household use, and ordinary industrial use, but is not designed, developed and manufactured as contemplated for use accompanying fatal risks or dangers that, unless extremely high safety is secured, could lead directly to death, personal injury, severe physical damage or other loss (hereinafter "High Safety Required Use"), including without limitation, nuclear reaction control in nuclear facilities, aircraft flight control, air traffic control, mass transport control, medical life support systems, and missile launch control in weapon systems. The Customer, shall not use the Product without securing the sufficient safety required for the High Safety Required Use. In addition, Fujitsu (or other affiliate's name) shall not be liable against the Customer and/or any third party for any claims or damages arising in connection with the High Safety Required Use of the Product.

Exportation/release of this document may require necessary procedures in accordance with the regulations of your resident country and/or US export control laws.

Modification and reverse engineering are permissible for the following programs included in this product to the extent permitted under the GNU LESSER GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Version 2.1 and the GNU LIBRARY GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Version 2, which are applied to the open source software used together with this product.

The customer cannot distribute Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 redistributable package.
